Ok, /lit/ I want to start reading philosophy (I've never read anything of that field). What book or author would you recommend to someone who wants to get into it? Thanks in advance bros.

Philosophers are just scientists and psychologists who were proven wrong at one point or another.

Reading straight philosophy is pointless. Philosophical ideas can be easily attained through fiction or plays. Philosophy that is explained through fiction and plays is more worth reading than ramblings that often come across as schizobabble; and this means the author is more talented therefore his thoughts are more worth hearing.

thank you i will. I do feel there's something more to it as I read, but in terms of actual plot its a little sparse. I'm taking a break before book 3 so i can finish the second book in Wolfhound Empire, hopefully i won't forget too much.

So guys, if you had to recommend one philosophy book what would you choose and why.

A book that stands on its own or defines a field.
