I started with Nietzsche and now I can't seem to get into any other philosophy as I feel like he really nailed it.

Anyone else here have a Nietzsche phase then eventually grow out of it? This happened to me. I was really into his stuff for about 3 years then just lost interest. I think it might have to do with the fact that I got really heavily into drugs and that replaced my interest in Nietzsche, the two events coincided around the same time. I think I want to get into philosophy again but I don't know who to read. Who should I read?

If you could snap your fingers and instantly know one classical language in great depth, which one would you pick?

Do we have any hope of bringing meaning and structure back to society as a whole? Or are we doomed to postmodernism and reactions to postmodernism?

For those of you who've had experiences with God (as conceptualized by Abrahamic religion mostly, but I suppose otherwise works as well) and practice Abrahamic religion, what do you make of erudite philosophers/poets who reject a necessity of such worship. I take Nietzsche for example, or Wallace Stevens. I would call these guys secular mysticists as they appear to reject a necessity of man to submit to God but thing that he may overcome suffering through individual Self-reformation. I don't think that's necessarily not true, but as someone who has faith and has experienced God, I know that they are wrong to deny the immensity of His impact on man and act as if art and self-determination is an equally viable cure to our suffering. Of course, there are plenty of non-Abrahamic enlightened people, but I do believe such blatant dismissal of God's importance is a tell that someone may not be exactly as wise as they think they are. Now, this is just coming from someone who believes that God is the Objective Reality and the world we live in is the Illusion. Yet there's some Stevens quote that's along the lines of "man's own imagination is the only true reality" and that just comes off as misguided arrogance and denial of God, which I don't like. What do you guys make of this sort of confrontation? I love Stevens a lot and need to read more Nietzsche but ya.
