My teacher failed me my essay by one mark because I didn't read the poem closely enough.

In fact I had taken a different interpretation of the poem 'Retrospect' by Robert Bridges, in that Bridges was reflecting on his entire life experience rather than a specific relationship. The points I made were very similar in fact, but she didn't even critique the essay. She underlined my first paragraph and wrote "wrong" and then ignored the rest of my essay.

But she can only mark according to her answer sheet because she isn't a real english teacher. She is a drama teacher who the college believes can teach Shakespeare.

She's unreasonably aggressive and she's vague in her explanations. I think she's just paranoid people are going to find out she's not a real teacher.
