The Labour Theory of Value is bullshit because it relies on circular reasoning.
You know how in the mudpie argument, those mudpies I put all that time in making won't sell for all that much, and the LTV believer would say "oh, that's because its not 'socially-useful' labour (which is a very ill-defined and unscientific concept btw) and also, you're confusing exchange value and use value with intrinsic value! Labour produces intrinsic value which is not always represented by use value or exchange values which are influenced by other variables!"
So then I would say, "ok, so how do you determine something's intrinsic value?"
They would say, "well, its dependent on the amount of labour put in!"
I would reply, "why is labour valuable?"
And they would say, "well, because labour produces intrinsic value!"
It only works if you presuppose that its already correct.
