Anyone have any suggestions how to approach this man, where to start, what to know, that sort of thing? I've been reading his case studies of mediums, spirits and it's a fucking riot.

You must differentiate concrete reality (that which is real) from psychic reality (that which is real because it works) when discussing these matters.

If consciousness impermanence carries forward from life into death to the same degree which it confers itself upon living consciousness then there is no experience after the extinguishing of the perceiving consciousness.

However, that does not exclude the possibility of perception to some theoretical degree based on any number of suppositional notions.

Only what you experience can be classified as meaningful.

This stuff is really interesting.
I very rarely remember the poetic rhymes and speeches that occur in my dreams. A man a few nights ago gave this Melville-esque speech during a mountaineering expedition but i don't remember a bit of it.
I have one that really freaks me out. I am piloting a space shuttle with few others in orbit around a planet. We make contact with this huge, ornate ring-like space station. Our shuttle connects to it and I step out, now alone. I ride an elevator up that opens into glass and where the sun was is now this a vaguely female god-like being that I can barely look at. Everything is silent. The elevator takes me further up to a dark open warehouse that I wander around a bit while getting more and more unnerved because something is following me. I turn around and this ~10ft tall blue creature/machine sort of like the sun god is chasing me yelling in a incomprehensible language; I wake up before it gets to me.
