I want to write, but while I used to read quite a lot from elementary to highschool, my engineering degree sapped me of all will to read after being buried in mathematics and physics literature. As consequence, I feel I don't have a proper grasp on prose anymore. Where does one use ";"? How do you write dialogue? Do I put a dot at the end like
>"This is a line spoken by a character.".
Or is it

Or is it
>"This is a line spoken by a character."
I can get an answer to these specific questions rather easily of course, but I'm just exemplifying my issues. I've been trying to get back into reading but other bullshit always ends up in the way so progress is slow.
