While there aren't very many good female authors, the very best ones are actually really good

though the only good female I've read of the 20th century was Marg Young, and Woolf was alright too I guess (but clearly leagues behind her male contemporaries, unless you count the bloomsb group which was a group of driveling retards and in which case she was the best of her contemps)

tons of great gay writers, but most of them being writers who had talent removed from their homosexual messages

tons of good asian authors, and many from south america

none by african americans though or transexuals

I thought similarly until I read Miss Macintosh My Darling and realized that a Woman wrote the best book of the second half of the 20th century
