This thread is dedicated to the life and thought of the german philosopher Martin Heidegger.

Has anyone here read a lot of Heidegger? Was it worth the effort? Did it change how you view the world?

I am afraid of wasting my time trying to understand a complicated book like Being and Time, especially with all of its technical jargon, when I could have spent that time reading a dozen or so other less-complicated but more illuminating books. Also, I am just a regular ass dude and have no plans on being a professor of philosophy so maybe it's not for me.

Anyone here have any positive experiences with reading Heidegger or did you come to the conclusion that it's too deep for you and it's better just to read fiction instead?
