>The pain and love that went into people creating medicine, the same pain and love that novels are based on. All of it is necessary, all of it what we live for.

Well put.

All I wish is for more people to consciously braid art, science, and divinity into a single cord, to trace these split ends of human activity to their mutual root: the slick and beautiful mind of Homo sapiens, craziest motherfuckers of the Heavens and Earth.

And what became of the place where they found the eagle and the snake?

It became glorious Tenochtitlán.

I've just read The Lies of Locke Lamora and this is mfw.
I have a major depression. It's been really hard for me to take care of myself lately. I don't even eat by myself, I'm not hungry at all, I need to be fed. Put to bed or under a shower. I haven't read a book since October. I used to read three books a week. This is... This is very difficult for me. I'm actually crying like a retard now, but I'm so happy, I'm so happy I've read something. It was awesome. I don't remember when was the last time I did something... enjoyable. I'm so happy.

Imagine you can't read. Imagine you're unable to read. And then when it's back... I'm so happy.

>Now, however, I live in hope - hope that before the disease in my brain finally wipes it clean, I can jump before I am pushed and drag my evil Nemesis to its doom, like Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty locked in combat as they go over the waterfall.

I fucking love this guy.

Just a quick question, /lit/, regarding a certain series of books revolving around a certain desert planet and its importance to a certain galaxy, mostly written by a certain deceased American.

If the Fremen of Dune consider spitting to be an honorable greeting, would refusing water from a host be considered an insult? If they were on the surface without a stillsuit, and they are offered water from a personal rival of theirs, would this be considered an insult? Regarding the former, would Fremen even give out their water in lavish banquets of some sort if they were wealthy in rings?

What would they think about ice, or the frosty treat that is ice cream?

Picture just barely related

I'm going to edit, put together, and organize many classics of philosophy from gutenburg, for kindle, and putting together a torrent.

The only ones I see are terrible huge PDF's and most are not complete.

Here is where you come in, if you like.

Give me your 'must have' works of philosophy, or even authors and I'll add them. All will be .mobi format. I'll add them all.

I will not add things such as 'The Divine Comedy' or 'The Metamorphosis' and other things that were not philosophy to begin with.

I humbly ask your help on this /lit/, it keeps my mind off of my research paper on Swift due next class back from break.

Fuck.

What are some essential Asimov books? No way am I adding every single one to my collection.

I can't read them all, so what are some good ones?
