Could have been a great attempt to bait some people into going "BUT THAT'S WHAT OUR PARTY STANDS FOR AND IS DOING RIGHT NOW".

Disregarded anyway, twitter, though (it seems atm) less of a dopamine factory than facebook, is only good for functioning as a RSS feed.

Anon you're all replying to here.

What happened to /lit/? Clearly my post took on an awkwardly autistic affect, but that was only to add some humor to what I'd hoped would be a relatable story. Shit, this thread is ">Co-workers are talking about books", what's the point if not to reach out and connect with other miserable introverts.

Hell, the main reason I even come to 4chan is so I can be an unlikable prick in company of the same.

I've seen posts calling Hitler a great guy and calling for genocide get nothing but a few replies of agreement, but this is what triggers you redditors? The idea of some friendless asshole silently judging you?

I can't even open my mouth without douchbags loudly judging me to my face.

The worst part is if I swallowed my pride and told some story about having sex (making sure to call the girl a hoe), made some mean spirited racist joke about whatever minority is currently being kicked while they're down, or just described some epic meme picture I'd seen on facebook, everyone would think I'm a stellar guy.

And of course you all find forced bullshit like >>9680835 hilarious. "LMAO WOLF DICK BRAH" "This is going on r/4chan for sure my dude". Only goes to show how much the average age here has dropped over the years.

Then there's the token dumbshit like >>9694115 thinking that using words with three paragraphs is "try hard shit".

We're all shitty people, but at least I have the decency to accept it, enjoy it, and occasionally wallow in it anonymously.

But all you people are so uptight you can't even enjoy laughing at me. Pathetic.

I need to catch up /lit/. I enjoyed reading books maybe 5-6 years ago, but then I never wanted to until now, when school's over for a couple of years for me. >>9678288 pretty much sums it up. Anyhow, I feel like I need a backlog of what could be concidered "essential reads", so not just any book regardless of how good it is. Preferrably a book of philosophical or cultural importance that may have had a conciderable effect on either of those two.

Maybe 50 in total would give me a decent backlog? I think the following may be included in that 50-book list, but I'm not sure.
>1984
>Animal Farm
>The Bible
>Atlas Shrugged
>Crime and Punishment
>War and Peace
>The Trial
>The Prince
>Ulysses
>Das Kapital
>Mein Kampf
>The Divine Comedy

Should I remove any of these from the list? What should I add? Remember quality ss not really the most important parameter here, more so cultural, political and philosophical impact , and historical importance. So I'm not memeing about the Bible, Das Kapital and Mein Kampf.
