Does anybody have any small presses they really like? Is anyone here a writer or a poet who has submitted a book to a small press? If so, what were your results?

I think they may want it to be exclusive. But maybe that's the price you pay for your audience.

I don't actually LIKE Amazon. Bezos is a fucking dweeb and I loathe a lot of the things they do. But it's hard to deny their reach. You have to go where the eyeballs are, you know?

Where are the best places to release fiction online these days? I mean original fiction, obviously, not fanfiction.

I know that there are a ton of places where you can release fiction online. Places like Wattpad, or AO3, or Royal Road. Amazon is getting into this sort of thing too with their Kindle Vella service. Does anyone have experience with this, with releasing stories through these sorts of services? Supposedly some of the stories released on these sites and apps have thousands, even millions of readers. Are these the places where you go to build a serious audience for fiction in the modern world?

I wonder how many people on this board have actually been published. Have you been published, Anons? Fiction, poetry, or nonfiction is fine. I'm curious to know who on this board has actually had any kind of success as a writer or a poet.
