I don't get why reddit is so popular. Everyone tries to make stupid jokes for le upvotes and wastes everyone's time. The comments are confusing. Why isn't it chronological and why are comments hidden? Why do I have to manually open comments? How come I can't easily post a picture, wtf is imgur? Why do people sperg out and write essay length comments, and why do people reply with equally long comments? Do they have all day to sit around on reddit? Why do they call animals "this guy" all the time? Don't people get sick of that shit and what if the animal is female? Why do they want objectionable comments hidden, do they really believe that smothering dissent is a consensus? And their posts are uniform in a way that would embarrass someone even from here. The same shit gets posted all the time.

r/books is also the worst subreddit, not only are they casuals but they are aggressively opposed to anything other than genrefiction/beginner classics (too kill a mockingbird, 1984 etc) If they're going to be plebs they should at least have humility.
