It is damaging to the self because Jesus said so and if you stop to think about it he is right. This is not how proper human relations are supposed to exist, and they are damaging to the interior of a man to continue this way; they make him depraved and indifferent to his own degeneracy while also ironically making him shy of real women and relationships.
