yeah i found her feeling sorry for Daisy to be fucking retarded, she's vain and full of herself and imo has no endearing qualities.

i was focusing more on the point that in reality NO narrators ca be classified as reliable, even if they're oniscient 3rd person narrators.

I felt a little bit wearisome of Nick at the end, he still seems to be a part of the rate race and i really wanted him to just up and leave his job and house and just...get away. But i feel like he wouldn't as a character, that he got too caught up in everything even though he tried not to.
And that even if he did get out someone else would just take his place.
You're totally right about the trappings of the 'old money' it's not the actual money that gets you there, it's the brutish yet civilised life style (tom anyone?) compared to Gatsby who was nice as fuck but could never really make it.

i really loved this novel, definately one of my fav's.

also i don't think she wanted me to challenge her, i think she was just a bit slow.
