All the males I meet either don't read or read YA shit, YA is all they recommend me. Guy will see me reading and go - "Oh you're reading a book! Whew do you know I also read books???" - then proceed to try to lend me some shitty crime novel. Every time. Best/most well-read I've gotten is a twink who idolised Camus so much he's gotten him tattooed on his arm and my current boyfriend who is into dumb shit like Dune and LOTR and Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard so when I talk to him about nonfiction which is what I primarily read he just slow blinks at me because he can't comprehend concepts which are outside of entertainment and outside of his religion.
