Did anyone notice how the prose is actually kind of weak? I'm on page 30 and a bit disappointed since everybody talks about how awesome this is.

What does /lit/ think of The Bell Jar? I haven't read any Plath prior to this novel and I honestly don't know much about her as a writer.

Although it's semi-autobiographical and seems to be following a subject I have no interest in what so ever, fashion. It's still managing to keep me entertained and rustled about how much of a fucking eejit Plath is and how she seems to shift blame from herself to everyone around her.

Which repetition of "I'm a cunt" was your favorite part of I'm A Cunt?

Honestly, I gave Bell Jar a far shake, but I quit 25mins in. The narrator (which of course is a self-insert of Sylvia) is absolutely loathful.
