im reading the classics and i admit i am a brainlet but there are a lot of things even smart people wouldnt know that youd have to look up, like that danaans, argives, and achians all mean greeks, or a hectacomb is a big sacrifice of 100 oxen

so what are some good publishers that have annotations and shit not to like spoonfeed you the book but that gives you information you need? ive been really enjoying the landmark editions of Herodotus and thucydides
