Is this book still relevant despite its age? I'm looking for books to get ahead with people specifically in the workplace. This book is the most popular and obvious, other results I have never heard of so I am unsure of how effective they are. Any recommendations for this subject?

Every business school and corporate leader recommends this book. I finished it today and still don't know how to make friends.

thinking of getting this as apparently its a classic but my gut says I would prefer something more original.

Forget about the "win friends" part, that's retarded "friends" come and go.
This book gives some really nice tips on how to "influence" or "manipulate" people. They are really useful and the book has a lot of examples.
A classic amongst self help books.

Is there anything helpful in this book, or did I fell for the self-help jew? After reading the first three chapters, I thought this was all just common sense with anecdotal evidence as filler. I just chapter 5, and it's literally eight pages of anecdotal evidence on why smiling is important.
