What can you tell me about Dhalgren and the works of Samuel R Delany in general?
Is it worth the time?

Someone explain the ending of Dhalgren for me please.

I'm usually not one for genre fiction, but Dhalgren has been some of the most fun I've had reading in months. Somehow it brings Rohmer's films to mind. I had no idea it would be so cozy and that the sci-fi/post-apocalyptic elements were so slight.

I've seen a bunch of comparisons online to Ulysses and Gravity's Rainbow, but I can't tell if that's just a bunch of sciencefictionophiles who immediately lump anything that reads mildly avant-gardeishly in with the must-be-genius-I-can’t-understand-anything category.
