At the very least
You could read his recommended lit
if your going to tell us we should also include songs as literature (which most start out to be lyrics) The thing i find about people that only care about music, is just that. They beat is too distracting to hear the silence of your own thoughts as you flip the page. There is none of this in music. Sure music can be personal journey, and to each their own. But that i'm saying is, most people that get encased with music, only go that far, it's rather sad.

Gibbard got alot of inspirations from
Jack Kerouac "On The Road", Please read this, and report back to /lit/ how you liked it. I think he is vegan, which would account likely for the weight hes lost? If your too lazy. grab an audiobook or read it on sparknotes, with quick summaries, which i often do about books i have little time to read.

I don't follow death cab for cutie or postal service really close, he does make noteworthy music however it shouldn't be your only source of lit. I think he made a video with Styrofoam quoting insinuating on the road references

"Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together; sophistication demands that they submit to sex immediately without proper preliminary talk. Not courting talk--eal straight talk about souls, for life is holy and every moment is precious."-On the road

one of the things that got me into reading was a book i got. I was fascinated to have a brief historical lesson in science as i think that topics is often under-looked for our maybe unaided answers in life or the future to come

Anything by Bill Bryson.

David Sedaris is funny too, because sometimes I am a hipster and have Shameful Hipster Urges.

I liked 'Non Campus Mentis,' but that doesn't really count because it's just a compilation of quotations.

Sup /lit/, first time posting on this board. I'm betting you guys probably have one of those lists of "Books Everyone Should Read" floating around here, right? On topics like culture, history, politics, economy, theology, science, et cetera...

Crossing my fingers here - anyone have such a list that they'd care to post?
