Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to pray and find mercy for those that hate us, for those that consider us their enemies, because the same way we are merciful, our Lord in Heaven will be merciful with us. He taught us to believe in misericordy to not fall victim of the lies of men, because those lies will bring hatred into our hearts and hatred will turn our hearts into stone, and then it will impossible of us to find love and mercy for even those that are innocent.

I hate to admit this, but it's true. I love Christianity and I believe in God, but I just cannot get myself to read the bible on a regular basis. I don't find it enjoyable or interesting. It's written in an extremely dry and unstylized manner which makes it really difficult to keep focused on reading. I literally have to force myself to sit down and read it. I love the psalms and I wish everything in the bible was as poetic and beautiful as they are. When I read the church fathers, the saints and other Christian books I often feel like it got me closer to God than reading the bible does.

You're absolutely right - the fish being blessed by God in Genesis 1:22 IS a sign of men's being destined to receive repentance and remission of sins through the water and laver of regeneration. I honestly can't tell if you are another Catholic who is trying to make Protestants look bad, but either way, thanks for at least helping to prove that the fathers taught baptismal regeneration.
With regards to your second point, your confusion comes as a result of not understanding Catholic doctrine of justification. We believe that belief in Christ, and acceptance of His sacrifice, is necessary for justification. We just believe that faith is confirmed THROUGH baptism, which is an visible sign of an invisible grace (being born again into the death and resurrection of Jesus).

What more could be left to discuss? Pray that the Holy Spirit guides you into all truth, even if you are afraid, and I will pray for you as well.
