This rationalist mechanization of the understanding of the world in modernity has generated, as a reaction to the spiritual mode of life, a particular interest in the physical and mathematical sciences deprived of their spiritual and symbolic content, and it is this practical secularization of the sciences that has allowed the insane acceleration of the establishment of contemporary technology which effectively allows unequalled comfort in all ages and a truly marvelous access to information. However, the question that we should ask ourselves is: should we prefer comfort or spirituality? For my part I want to assure that it is better for man to consider himself as an element of the organic and transcendent system of the cosmos than as a particle on a couch. It is also necessary to consider that the whole of modern technology is not essentially anti-traditional, and it seems to me that it is possible, provided that we manage to demodernize the paradigms of the people, to reorder it to the spiritual way of being in the world. This is why, in spite of a certain aversion to the present world, it is advisable not to fall into an absolute primitivism but to apply oneself to composing with the newness in order to re-establish the good way of being in souls and hearts.
