Negatively, yes. But it would be worse if I weren't reading.

What is the best simile that you’ve read in a book?

So it’s essentially just describing power relations. I don’t see anything wrong with it from an egoist perspective as long as people don’t start to see it as a moral absolute.

I agree. Public schools are for plebs and people who hate their kids. Normal people should either homeschool, or send their kids to private schools.

The problem is that the claim "might is right" is redundant and doesn't actually answer any moral questions about how do we live our lives.
It doesn't even answer what "might" is. The definition of "might" in this context is so broad that we are left with "right is right" or "power is power"

I didn't like 15, but I enjoyed a few of the newer ones. They were fine. I don't really like the Rowley Jefferson diaries tho

Peter Sloterdijk "You must change your life".
His main claim is that religions don't actually exist, but at the same time religiosity is an essential part of being human.

If you struggle to read why not start with airport novels or scholastic books like Animorphs?

idk if this is common knowledge at this point but if you go to cancel audible and select the reason "too expensive" (or however it's worded) they offer you an instant free credit. you can then use it on a book and still cancel. good way to get 2 books instead of one if you're a mass account type of person. enjoy frens

I have no idea, it depends on the book. I read until I'm unable to keep focus which is about an hour, then I take a break and read for another hour and repeat as necessary

I am a logophile and enjoy reading words from minds far greater than my own. It's also nice to at times have a reason to disconnect from the utter horror show that is modernity, too; when I read I leave all technology behind and just sit with whichever book I'm reading. I write down words I don't know the definitions of (or can't infer) and look them up later. In the Summer I typically go to a nice park and read in the sun, and in Winter I have a nice corner of my room with a comfy chair and a stack of books to choose from.

What are some philosophers that don't require interminable amounts of pre-req reading?
I previously enjoyed reading Schopenhauer's Studies in Pessimism, so thought I may try moving onto his most eminent work, The World as Will and Representation. It then turns out that I should know a bunch of Kant before I can begin to understand that, and then before Kant I should probably know some fucking Hegel. What the fuck bros. I just want to read some ideas by some very smart guys and have fun. Do such writings exist? Or is it just a long line of fuckery starting all the way back with the Greeks?
