Who could ever forget the gripping tale of Numbers 33?
[5]: And the children of Israel removed from Rameses, and pitched in Succoth. [6]: And they departed from Succoth, and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness. [7]: And they removed from Etham, and turned again unto Pi-hahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon: and they pitched before Migdol. [8]: And they departed from before Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah. [9]: And they removed from Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve fountains of water, and threescore and ten palm trees; and they pitched there. [10]: And they removed from Elim, and encamped by the Red sea. [11]: And they removed from the Red sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin. [12]: And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah. [13]: And they departed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush. [14]: And they removed from Alush, and encamped at Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink. [15]: And they departed from Rephidim, and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai. [16]: And they removed from the desert of Sinai, and pitched at Kibroth-hattaavah. [17]: And they departed from Kibroth-hattaavah, and encamped at Hazeroth. [18]: And they departed from Hazeroth, and pitched in Rithmah. [19]: And they departed from Rithmah, and pitched at Rimmon-parez. [20]: And they departed from Rimmon-parez, and pitched in Libnah. [21]: And they removed from Libnah, and pitched at Rissah. [22]: And they journeyed from Rissah, and pitched in Kehelathah. [23]: And they went from Kehelathah, and pitched in mount Shapher. [24]: And they removed from mount Shapher, and encamped in Haradah. [25]: And they removed from Haradah, and pitched in Makheloth. [26]: And they removed from Makheloth, and encamped at Tahath. [27]: And they departed from Tahath, and pitched at Tarah. [28]: And they removed from Tarah, and pitched in Mithcah. [29]: And they went from Mithcah, and pitched in Hashmonah. [30]: And they departed from Hashmonah, and encamped at Moseroth. [31]: And they departed from Moseroth, and pitched in Bene-jaakan. [32]: And they removed from Bene-jaakan, and encamped at Hor-hagidgad. [33]: And they went from Hor-hagidgad, and pitched in Jotbathah. [34]: And they removed from Jotbathah, and encamped at Ebronah. [35]: And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Ezion-gaber. [36]: And they removed from Ezion-gaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh. [37]: And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

There is no controversy. The publisher came here to shill their books like the absolute niggers they are and likely most posters in the thread are the same person. There is a document where he claims to be an american writing the novel and the River Boat Publisher - which might be fake as well. If you read it, most of the reviewers names he drops (except the one published by River Boat) don't exist on google, so either by a big coincidence they have no digital presence, or they for the most part fake.
In fact, almost everyone connected to the whole thing seems to not exist at all. I am afraid that The Modern Novel guy was likely scammed into reading it, or is on the hoax as well. There is also a YouTube video by a guy named Leaf by Leaf on the whole Riverboat etc. where he mentions the Mad Patagonian and other books by these guys, but in my opinion he was likely paid to do it: if you read the comments and compare them to those in the other videos, they look fake and made by bots (they keep asking more about the mad patagonian when the review is about another book, they are overtly polite etc.).
My final assessment is that either this whole thing is a giant scam by someone who has a lot of money and free time to pretend to be an author instead of actually trying to engaging with the publishing world, or worse. It seems like a big scheme to either steal someone's data or make a point about the publishing world or whatever.
It's more entertaining to delve into the rabbit hole for about two hours before discovering everything is fake. I'm definitely not reading 1200 pages by a guy who's going so far into shilling his own book - did that with Tao Lin already and all his stuff was shit. It's also irritating seeing a guy playing at being an author when most of what he's doing is throwing money at problems. Fucking engage with your peers in an honest manner if you want to be acknowledged by them, you spectacular faggot.

Here's the Leaf by Leaf video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxUzbdqCXb4

Here the document where the guy claims to be Peter Damian Bellis (likely also a fake name, fake story, fake interactions with other authors and 100% fake reviewers):

I did Modafinil for two years and it's fucking awful. It makes you feel good for exactly one and a half hours--euphoric and energetic and very interested in whatever you're doing. Then it's like you have a dopamine crash and feel horrifically depressed, emotionless, exhausted, and bored, but the wakefulness properties of the drug are still active so you can't fall asleep and you're basically trapped doing whatever you were doing for the next twelve hours while hating every second of it. Then you feel like shit for the next three days.

Awful, awful drug. I think it was invented for fighter pilots and considering it makes you an emotionless zombie unable to tear away from a singular task, that's literally the only thing it's appropriate for.

To tell you the truth, I primarily read philosophy, e.g. Plato, Aristotle, Hume. After sometime had passed, my brain suddenly started thinking that I must take notes on fiction as well. I couldn't give you a précis of what happened in each scene of Hamlet off the top of my head, and my brain starts panicking and just says to itself "Why even read at all?" As I've said before, I suffer from OCD. The only thing that's really helped me much is calm meditation. I know none of this is rational in the slightest, but I don't know how to dispell these thoughts from my mind.
