There are tons of books by professional and talented writers on the creative writing. John Garner's The Art of Fiction and On Becoming a Novelist are both helpful, and The Way of the Writer by Charles Johnson is great too. You could also enroll in a creative writing course. I don't care that skeptics call it a fallacy, there's nothing more important than being in cahoots with other writers or academics to help you hone your skill as a writer. Your compulsion to write is absolutely useless if you won't learn from others; the skilled carpenter didn't build his chair by saying, "Fuck it."

Sorry for the cynicism in my last post, it just breaks my heart to see all these would-be ambitious young writers on this retarded board be under the illusion that they're good because they don't have anyone in their lives to tell them how much room for improvement there is.
