lol what a dumb bitch.
>someone steals details about you, including your name, where you live, where you work, and who you date
>they embellish those details with things they find on your social media
>they completely assassinate your ex-boyfriend's character and turn him into "a slimeball"
>half of the story is YOU getting RAPED in a graphic sex scene
>that story is published at The New Yorker and there's going to be a movie adaptation
>the story gets so many details about you and your life correct that your friends and family who read it start texting you asking you if you wrote it
>you claim this whole situation has caused you grief and turmoil
>when you contact the author she says "yeah I based on you oops LOL"
If she were smart she would get a lawyer. She didn't sell her life rights to Kristen Roupenian, so what she did is illegal. She is entitled to compensation for the use of her likeness without written permission. I mean they're making a fucking movie out of that story! Do you know how many millions of dollars movies cost? And this dumb bitch isn't going to get a dime out of it.

Who was the first person to use the word "kicks" instead of "shoes" and can we put them on trial for crimes against the English language?

Linda's single bedroom apartment smells like cat litter, and she spends all day tweeting about nazis that wont fuck her.

the problem with the text is that it's an info dump, a very boring, vague info dump. Telling us "the city has a social economic structure that is both Victorian and modern" tells us nothing. Is there a queen? Is it a democracy? Is there an industrial revolution going on? Is there a computer boom? Is it an empire or is it just spying on everyone while doing shady back door military operations?

Oh wait, there's a nobility and indoor plumbing. Who the fuck cares? Unless this story is about a plumber or spends an unusual amount of time in the bathroom this piece of information is useless. This is an author so obsessed with their own world building that they're just mentioning off-handedly that they have toilets, which I doubt matters because I think it's unlikely the author is going to describe Scythe Arkenlight taking a shit on her steampunk toilet.

The vampire bit is useless because we all know what a vampire is. Telling us that there are vampires is just removing a possible element of surprise from the book. And then the author tells us that these are totally new, different vampires. Vampires generally change from book to book, you don't need to tell us that you, the author, have creative freedom to what sort of vampires are going to be in the book, you're the fucking author, it's a given.

All this bullshit packaged in a holier-than-thou voice makes it extra cringe-worthy. I thought that all this was obvious, since I assumed people on /lit/ are generally accustomed to reading books that don't read like they were made by a pretentious nine year old. But if we can't enjoy this shit at face value, I suppose I could explain why it's so bad for the slow-witted.

And here is a picture of a face because this is an image board.
