How should we go about purging the reactionary elements from /lit/? I'm not sure how much longer I can tolerate the /pol/ drones. This issue needs to be addressed for the sake of our board's quality.

They're known for being deliberately obtuse, and it just doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of payoff even if I power through them. I'm open to being convinced otherwise, though. The infamy of the movement and its works are putting me off a little bit, but maybe I'm just ignorant.

What do you think about obscurantism /lit/? Is it designed to protect knowledge from the uninitiated, or to make an author sound smarter?

I personally believe the latter.
