Why does all writing advice seem to be "make it more unique, exciting, never repeat x or y etc." Then you read a book from somebody in the western canon and they'll often repeat the same words, platitudes, always use "said X" instead of some other term constantly? This always seems to happen, especially from writing advice threads on websites, not just here. I have a feeling if I was to take the first few pages of say Molloy or Crime and Punishment and post it here I would guarantee that people who never read them would find extreme faults in it or say it's boring etc. This can be substituted for any great work as well.

1. What poets do you recommend me to start with? Is there any use in following a a slightly chronological order in my approach to them?
2. How do you read poetry? Is it useful to take notes on what you thought about the poems you read, saving passages? This is something I've been doing with books in general, do any of you apply this to poems?
3. Is there something I can do in order to understand poetry better? For example, do you recommend me any book that talks about different movements, contexts and artifices used by different poets in different times?

I am feeling quite sad these days /lit/. Can you recommend me some literary books that discuss being caught on the past? Most of my sadness derives from this feeling of loss... Like I lost friends, I lost a love, I lost many things in time, things that I still cling to and make it hard to move on. It feels like moving on will make me let these things go even further away from me than they already are, idk.
Maybe some books that somehow go over these thoughts can help me.

Ok, guys, nice books; but, beyond reading them, what would you do in order to try to keep your sanity?

What is the best way to remember a book word for word, reading it (physical/e-book), listening to it (audiobook) or both at the same time and would reading a book then listening to it OR listening to a book then reading it do anything in terms of helping me remember a book word for word?

You could also say something like: "you know, you remind me of the comfort of a library, a field of ochre flowers, and my favourite parts of autumn" at least that has some poetry and emotion behind it.
