Not just multitudes of people here now but great multitudes. Perhaps you could say an army of people? Armies are known for taking things by force.

I want to read the bible to get a better understanding of literature and to augment my current reading of ancient literature (kind of as an exit to the middle ages).
I see the bible being recommended a lot, however, reading the whole thing is nonsense. I think I already got a fairly good grasp bit - is there a good chart or reading list, especially when it comes to order, what parts are most important and maybe readings for special topics?

Why exactly is his religion so devoid of teaching on the Nature of things unlike all the others? It's pretty much composed entirely of morals.

For instance, all of the other religions like Buddhism or the Greek and Egyptian Mystery schools not only taught spiritual knowledge but also fundamental explanations of existence.

You'd think that the son of god would at least be able to say "oh, by the way, Matter is composed of x y z, time is abc, and the earth revolves around the sun" etc.

What do you think? Christianity seems like a pretty impoverished religion compared to the rest.
