For those of you who write notes on what you read, do you write in the margins or in a separate notebook? I find that writing in the margins is useful in the sense that it allows me to put my thoughts next to whatever prompted it, but having a separate notebook has the advantage of having all my thoughts on a book be easily accessible, and it also gives me a lot more space to write down longer thoughts or ideas without having to write super messily all the way down a page.

Agreed. As someone who’s been exposed to most of the illiberal ideas circulating in “dissident right wing circles” I did not find anything new or interesting in BAP. The gimmicky language, while I get it, ended up being annoying.

I might recommend this to a teenager or someone who hasn’t ever considered a right wing perspective, but that’s it. Not a high tier author

Most authors don't "code" characters because if a character is well written it does not need to be so. Coding is for cowards who are too scared to make a definitive statement or take a stance on something.

how to focus on reading for longer periods of time?
I've being reading about 2hrs a day for the last few weeks, it's great progress, but I wander a lot, almost every page I stop to think about something, it's a struggle. how to overcome that?
tbqh, I also have a little anxiety to read many pages without stopping and miss something important.
