People were freezing in he cold siberian winter and so while trying to keep warm they told each other topical stories, one of them was about how to best keep warm if the comrade guardsmen took your clothes and force you to stay outside. So the inmates took turns to completely envelop one another, the person inside would have warmth but also the penis of the person over them poking their asshole. CBT is pure ideology, not even memeing. Its based on the assumption there is one "rational" way to view the world and that rational view must be of a happy and functional person. They base this on absolutely nothing but bare arbitrary assumption.
Its "success" is based on the subjects ability to declare they are happier which is part of the "therapy" itself since the very declaration of displeasure is treated as irrational.
