How about you read the book to find out?
1. The original name is "Die Frohliche Wissenschaft ("la gaya scienza")", which is a reference to the medieval Provencal poets whose outlook on life was a great inspiration to Nietzsche.
2. As Kaufman writes in his introduction to the book, the word "gay" only acquired the meaning you take to be absolute very late on; even in the early 60s English dictionaries didn´t list it.
