Those lips look much too old to be Dolores'. I prefer the old cover.

The loveliest novel on earth, but often the discussions about it are a pain to read because some people are actually dumb enough not to understand that Humbert isn't very impartial or honest in his narration. Also, the people who think of this novel as a justification or glorification of paedophilia make me sad.

Why are you so misunderstood, my beloved Nabokov?

I disliked the subject matter and it made me feel uneasy throughout most of the book. I could understand and relate, but read it was not a pleasant experience for me. In general I don't like to read a stories that just make me feel bad or uncomfortable while reading them, especially so if they aren't somehow justified at the end.

Loved it. So well written, and so tragic on many levels. Was very impressed with the whole European/American incompatibility theme.

Definitely one of my favorite books.

One of my favorite novels. It is awesome. The prose Humbert tends to write in is beautiful. If people are hesitant about reading it because Humbert's a pedo I'd suggest just reading the Foreword and the first 4 chapters where he mainly explains the reason for his madness.
