I swear, during the day, lit is the same thirty people (if that). They only ever seem to talk about the same thing, and if interlopers come in, they either get no response or mindless crap as comments.

>> No.1092872

this is a breakthrough how did you figure that one out

>> No.1092874

The only posts "outsiders" make are:
1. Help me pirate X.
2. Suggest a book/do you have those suggestion pics.
3. Help me with my homework.

That shit doesn't deserve any replies.

To be honest, I really just wanted to post this comic but could think of a good topic, so I thought I'd vent my disdain. I don't give a shit about lit during the day. And you're one of the reasons.

>> No.1092882

>>1092874
Then there are the people asking about the books that aren't either

1. Altas Shrugged
2. Kafka
3 Dostoevsky/other pseudo-philosophy posts
4. Joyce
5. Crappy sci-fi/fantasy

Agreed

but at least it's a few people, I dread the dead hours, when it seems as if only 5 people are on /lit/

>> No.1092891

>>1092882
the thing is, those threads usually get some requests, it's just that there's usually not enough people for a protracted discussion

Oh, I care about lit. I just prefer it when I'm at work from the hours of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Usually sometime after 4:00.

>> No.1092898

>>1092888
I kinda like lit when it's not so crowded. I usually get threads started about books or authors I actually care about during those hours.

You're silly.

Actually, lit just seemed obsessed with eras of literature that I don't care about during the daytime. My favorite author is Dickens and it doesn't get more mainstream than that, saving Shakespeare, of course.

Dickens is only popular cause he wrote long novels with unrealistic characters

>> No.1092931

>>1092919
Kind of true. Dickens is popular--or was popular--because he wrong interesting stories about interesting people. He believed each individual was as eccentric as his characters. He had more faith in mankind than I do, but God love him, he couldn't get over the idea that people are worth looking at and learning about.

We need to rid this board of the trips

Stagolee is terrible
DeepandEdgy or whatever is a douchebag
Alexandre the new guys also sucks.

/lit/ was better than this once. Now, like every other board it's filling with trolls and the interesting people are leaving en masse.

I can hardly remember the last time I saw Same or jp, two of the tolerable trips around. That Marcus Aruceiud guy was okay, and he used to be the lowest of the trips, but at least he tried to add valuable discussion.

Hell, I don't remember the last successful wishlist thread on this board. We used to be about something here, we used to have generosity and spirit, now it's just the Stagolee show and the assholes that egg him on.

feels bad man

I don't know man, I kind of agree with him. It's gotten a lot worse over this summer. Honestly, the decline has coincided with the arrival of Stagolee.

I can deal with the daily Ayn Rand and Catcher in the Rye sucks threads, but the attention whoring is starting to get out of hand.
