Seeing as this thread has less shitposting than usual on this topic, I'm gonna mention something.

Supposedly that petition stated that if kids were trialed as adults after a certain age (forgot the exact age, but it was pretty early, maybe earlier than 13) they should be considered adults in all their responsibilities, including sexuality.

Of course it would've probably been better to rethink the way kids were thought of as judicial entities rather than giving them full responsibility, but that period in France was filled with desire for more and more freedom over regulation, as was already mentioned ITT, even being described as having had a profound libertarian influence even by leftists like Franco Berardi.

D&G as well as Foucault were pretty convincing about how much sexuality is mystified in our society, it being at once based animality and a matter of constant discussion and secrecy (at the same time) leading to it becoming a sort of coin who's two sides (obscenity and purity) just reinforce each other without ever allowing for a different framework or freedom. The thing is that these thinkers are probably too optimistic if they think people can regulate these things well on their own so that it's truly liberating rather than an imperative to enjoy (to quote Zizek) which leads to more unfreedom.
