>literature will never be as captivating as film
>literature will never be as immersive as vidya
>literature will never have the universal appeal of music

What's even the point of lit?

But you're wrong on the first two points.

I'll give you your third point but who gives a fuck if the average idiot normalfag prefers music??!

As a captivating medium film only captivates you for 2-4 hours based on the individual work. This does not compare to the experience of reading your favorite book, which may captivate you for a couple days to a couple weeks. There are traces of the sublime or deeply emotional in some films, but I couldnt disagree with you more.

Video games as an immersive narrative experience is a fucking joke, fighting waves of enemies or capturing waypoints inbetween cutscenes will never be immersive, and quality wise I cant think of any videogame who's narrative rises above middling level genre fiction. Even the much heralded planescape or bioshock are just plain jane derivatives that are bolstered by art direction, which is why souls games succeed at their medium so much better than exposition laid down in bioshock recordings. Now perhaps if you are sucked in by gameplay mechanisms or gambling/dopamine activating "tricks" like running maps for rewards I can agree with you, but that isnt sincere imaginative immersion.

Music as a universal is so generalized as to mean nothing, and the consumption is a completely different experience. You can read with classical music on after all. I guess I agree with you to a point.

I think it would be great if someone could combine Shakespeare-tier poetry with music.
