Hi.

I'm new to /lit/ and I'm rather afraid about what's going to happen.

Will you kick me in the nuts for being newwww to literature - because I more or less am, despite the age of 22 - or welcome me with a warmth I could only find in an old librarian's ass ?

>or welcome me with a warmth I could only find in an old librarian's ass ?

Only if you're willing to read the stranger.

>> No.1290468

>>read The Stranger
Very high class way of saying 'BECOME AN HERO'

I'm French.

I have. Along many many others in the course of, ahem, "education", which I deeply resent because of its unfair cultural boundaries. I had no idea who lee harper was for a very, very long time.

Any others ready to throw monkeyballs in my mouth ?

First of all, this is a SFW board. Second of all, that chick is anorexic. Just ew...

I'd be willing to ignore the first part if you actually posted hot naked chicks.

some light would be great

Irin happens to be my goddess so please show some respect. Her curves are deeply womanly in a way that prevents you from calling her anorexic despite how the adjective fits her lack of meat.

Didn't think nude photography was NSFW. Will remember, thanks for input.

I see ribs and hip bones jutting out. This is not attractive to me. But whatever gets you off, man.

I don't really mind naked chicks, but just be warned others may report you.

Got it, and I don't want my HINAMESJOHN thread to become an /s/ dump, but I have to say it, my gigs of femjoy/domai arent fap material which I "get off" to. Hundreds of people calling it porn have turned me into a very defensive person regarding this sub-genre of photography.

Anybody willing to discourage, bully or anything-me ? I expected more rituals of hate-mongering towards newcomers.

Usually we can't tell who newcomers are because they don't make threads announcing their presence. Go read a book.

hi OP, why don't you tell us about your favourite books and also the things you liked about them?

i'm sure we'd all be very glad to hear it.

ignore the unfriendly anonymous' you may come across. Most post with a tripcode (username#password in the 'Name' field) to differentiate ourselves from the trolls.

maybe you should think about doing that.

hope you enjoy your stay here on /lit/ for however long that may be!

OP here's our lists, there's even a general one. not sure if there's an 'entry-level' one.

as you can see OP the two decent posts in this thread (one actually delivering some recommended reading to you, the other highlighting a quality post) were posted by people using these so called 'tripcodes'

i say nothing more than that/

There you go.
Loved pretty much everything about it. Especially the bit where they are so smart.
Okay look, you have to realize it was VERY tempting. I just had to, plus, such an invitation, despite how honoring it may have sounded, happens to intimidate me, because I feel like I'm asked to get naked on a certain level. Oh well...

I don't think I have favorite books, although this may simply be a rhetorical story because I do have "books that I dearly remember for having influe..." etc.

Maupassant, Le Horla: discovered true fear at an early age, and indirectly, Lovecraft's themes. Inspired me to write for the first time in my life (a short story about feelings similar to the protagonist, which ironically originated throughout the reading process).

Chesterton, The Man Who Was Thursday: pivotal moment in teenagehood thanks to the higher motives it offers behind its portrayal of anarchism. IMHO an underrated gem.

Descartes, Discourse on the Method, great comfort of sheer honest doubt, humility, in a world where arrogance, unfounded certainty seemed tragically rampant. Also a factor of ambition that defined my eventual shift to a scientific career.

Rimbaud, A Season in Hell, I've always had a preference for verse, and rather than the british classics, this guy, along Baudelaire, have greatly appealed to me, because of how raw their paintings could feel. Also, like these two, I believe in honesty of the self, despite a slight misanthropy emerging from it, and a giant chaos always looming at each corner.

Thanks for having followed.

Chesterton's Man Who Was Thursday was recommended for the Book Club, interestingly.

there's one here ? How does it work? Scheduled "meetings" ? Bonus: what do you think of io9's "book club" ? So far I still hold on to the idea it's a generic award worshipper, but it hasn't disappointed me yet.

In America nude pics are not safe for work. People in corporate settings can get fired over that kind of stuff. But welcome anyway!

ye I know, in Europe too, I just didn't mean it that way. I have strong positions on nudity and its acceptance in society, which I criticize often. Sex is tolerated almost everywhere when it comes to advertising, yet we still frown upon a pair of small natural tits, and most don't even ask themselves why.
