I've been considering on getting an e-reader and this might actually get myself interested into reading since you can adjust the font and text size since one thing I hate about books are the way they're usually printed. Small and can't see shit captain. There was a thread on /g/ which convinced me that the Nook was superb and one could even pirate books from the Internet. Is the Nook really worth it over Sony's E-Reader or Amazon's Kindle? Should I consider asking for an e-reader for Xmas?

Someone on /lit/ needs to condense all the ebook info into an image and spread it round, so we don't get so many of these threads.

Also, Kindle is /lit/'s choice. There will be people who disagree and if you like a different one more feel free to inquire about it specifically, but /lit/ is overwhelmingly Kindle 3-happy, as you could tell by reading any one of a thousand of these threads posted every week.

The truth is the Kindle 3 is /lit/'s choice, and recommendation in every single e-book reader thread.

There are a few things that set them apart, but the Kindle 3 is the way to go for price and quality.

I broke mine and told them I broke it. They sent me a replacement asap for free 1 day shipping, and just asked I send the other one back, with a prepaid label from them, within a month.

Pretty awesome imo.

The only /g/oods thread with unbias reviews of products can be found on the technology board. This is coming from a regular /lit/ member and we're pretty much dominated with Amazon bots. Go to the board I mention and you'd get a better response.
