You can listen to Jordan Peterson, and he is pretty smart within the field of Psych. He knows the literature backwards and forwards and can cite studies he’s read from it seems like 40 year. He’s smart by my book, as few people are as well read and well mastered of a profession.

The problem is he stepped into politics and at first he was talking from within the point of view of psych. And everyone patted him on the back and told him he was a genius. Then he stepped out of bounds of his profession and it went just as well. Then he kept going and kept going and now he’s an expert on everything from environmental public policy, to immigration, to periodontal disease.

I only had to watch him talk about dentistry and then I realized how little he knew about medicine and I extrapolated and I assume he’s talking out his ass regarding a lot of other things.

Within Psych, this guy is incredibly mastered. He talks with a complete understanding of concepts and total familiarity with the literature.

Outside of Psych? Hes just a smarter version of you talking out his ass. He’s also mastered that annoying way of making shit up and taking with complete confidence that I hate.
