What's the hardest book to read in the history of literature?

This isint really a good question

To a 16 y/o non english speaker moby dick might be the hardest book while to a 18th century slav peasant infinite jest might seem incomprehensible

As far as books in the canon go, this. Obviously I or some random nobody could write a harder one that's basically incomprehensible schizophrenic nonsense but that wouldnt really be valid

Probably one of those cingey endless 10 millions+ ongoing fanfiction. Imagine reading a hundred novels about the memes adventures of Mario and family as envisioned by a sheltered autist. Just imagine.

Hegel and Kant, what a dumb question. How hard a book is to read does not say everything about the content. Go read a book about
complicated math formulas. God, I hate this board. 4chan is like hell.

If you're mentally ill I would say the hardest book to read is everything from Carl Jung. Because you will understand the root cause and comprehend the content but that won't cure your mental illness. It may be that you feel even more uncomfortable afterwards. And you will not understand why you are not healed, even though you can understand your life, but you can not control your feelings. You can only register them. Keep that in mind.
The inner life will always cheat you, it's too late. Medication helps to prevent morbidity and it will allow you to move forward instead of wasting your time with complicated books which distract you from
growth and a clear mindset. In the end, we are just the experience we have gained in real life relationships and not the content of a book.

Idk but Immanuel Kant's Critique of Pure Reason is brain melting for me and I read weird literary shit all the time.

Second close was Meaning of Masonry and its deliberately written to be pretentious, metaphorical and confusing.

And don't be confused by other opinions. When the hard time is over you can stop taking the medication. And you'll see, it's all up to you. No matter what someone else thinks. You did it yourself. Be true to yourself and don't abuse the medication otherwise you will feel guilty if you drop the medication and the pain will start over again even more aggressive.
It's just that you don't cheat yourself and you don't have to fool anyone. If you fool others, you're kidding yourself.
I think most people read books for the wrong reasons but in the end they will regret it.

Could you really write something more difficult that still has a meaning? Random gibberish isn't difficult since you understand all the content immediately.
