Rec me books to help me regain my catholic faith
Please no boomer conservatard filth (traditional stuff is absolutely ok, just no pop-prottie tier books like joel Osteen or whatever he's called, though serious protestants are also alright as long as the book doesn't have too much of a protestant bias)

Italian authors especially encouraged

If you're talking about salvation, i didn't mention that at all. I just want to see if it is possible for me to believe in God and the Church again like i did before losing my faith as a young kid and then go from there

The Drama of Atheist Humanism - Henri de Lubac
Good read, good counter to the constant meme-tier Nietzschianism that gets thrown around on this board.

Have you read Augustine’s Confessions? It starts off as a biography so if you want to compare yourself to a fanatic it can be enlightening.

I enjoy cs lewis mere christianity, and the suttle thematic works of tolkein. However, those are more light platitudes and for the "feel". I sometimes listen to descartes meditations when I go to sleep. He has a lovely way with words.

Fear and Trembling by Kierkegaard is a seminal work in terms of the discussion of faith. I thought how he defines true faith as continually moving forward and living well with an acceptance of all possibilities--both success and failure--is such an amazing way to view faith, whether or not you're applying to religion.

Can't believe no one has posted The Brothers Karamazov yet. (Yes yes, I know Russia is orthodox and not catholic, doesn't matter)
