That's shit though, One Piece is good. The answer is that there is no One Piece of literature, something like One Piece could only have been a manga while being any good. Literature isn't suited to telling a huge prolonged adventure story with wacky worldbuilding, it would just be stupid. The story fundamentally needs a grosser sensual visual medium since it's meant for primarily for entertainment. It would be demeaning for literature if it was forced into its form; it works perfectly in a sensually pleasing visual medium meant for entertainment, since that what the medium is meant for. It's true that entertainment is inherently lower than high literature, as sense and emotion are lower than thought—and since literature, being thought, can aspire to speak to a person's spirit directly—but entertainment can be well made for what it is. One Piece is one of the best stories meant for entertainment—as honest entertainment its value is infinitely greater than something like Harry Potter, and it doesn't presume to defile literature like it does—and it has even made me feel higher emotions since it has good values and comes from the better part of the author's heart.
