I use to work at an airport for an airline company. The union was so strong that we actually didn't work a lot. When we did it was hard but short (that's what she said L O L)
So whatever, there was a guy that was like 6foot 9' no kidding. ANd he was reading, so then it broke the stigma around people reading being nerd loser, so then I started reading on the job. I read a dozen while at work and did many homework/project for school

>> No.14435812

I exclusively read in public, because there is a daily two hour commute to my work and over the time I got used to it, even when it's Oktoberfest.

People are just completely inept at humiliating whoever attacks them for being or doing something healthy such as reading. It's so fucking easy to utterly destroy the morale of normalfags. No need to be 6'9.

>Caring about people thinking you're a nerd
>Not caring about getting sacked for reading on the job

Everywhere I've worked as a wageslave has always been understaffed. Nevermind reading, most of the time you don't even get your dinner break required by law, if you complain they will just stop giving you shifts.

>> No.14436915

Sure, why wouldn't I? Why do you care about what other people have to say?

I usually read while commuting or when I'm eating something/waiting and my friends have different class schedules than me. Talking with strangers every time can get exhausting.

I will read on public transport (train, bus, plane), but otherwise no. I prefer to read in the nude in the garden behind my house with a small pot of tea.

Not the anon you asked but I started a reading trend at my work by humiliating a person who tried to tease me about reading in the break room.

That does not make sense. If a company is overstaffed, then why would they stop giving out shifts to people willing to work?

when i go out i unironically take with me a book with a tittle that sounds complicated so it looks like im smart and interesting. every now and then someone asks me "excuse me, is that [book name]?" and sometimes they asks me what do i think about the book, i always reply with "i haven't finish it yet but so far i like it"
its mostly guys though, very rarely does a girl approach me. i actually haven't read a book in like 5 years

>> No.14437944

I read at work but that's not really public, unless I'm standing outside for a smoke while I do it. I used to read at a coffee shop but I'm tired of walking there, and the noise, and the food is shitty so I just bought a lamp and read at home.
