Any good charts, lists, or sites of esoteric, or "occult" texts that aren't post-Enlightenment distortions, unlike the Kybalion or basically anything that fat fuck Crowley spewed out? Like old source texts, or, if it be modern, books faithful to said texts? Can be Western or Eastern, but the former is preferred. Practical texts are also welcome.
Thelemites and pseudo-Hermeticists have ruined Western esotericism; I immediately drop any book that adds k to magic, makes mention of the "tarot", or any other
DO NOT mention you-know-who; I am aware of him and have him in my backlog.

If you are aware of HIM, and have strong opinions about thelemites and "psuedo-hermeticists how are you not aware of what you are looking for?

That's laughable.
>In my view the definition of truth is this: not to have a mistaken apprehension of Being (tes tou ontos katanoeseos). Falsehood is a kind of impression (phantasia) which arises in the understanding about nonbeing: as though what does not exist does, in fact, exist. But truth is the sure apprehension of real Being. So, whoever applies himself in quietness to higher philosophical matters over a long period of time will barely apprehend what true Being is, that is, what possesses existence in its own nature, and what nonbeing is, that is, what is existence only in appearance (en toi dokein), with no self-subsisting nature (anypostaton echon oph’ heautou ten physin). It seems to me that at the time the great Moses was instructed in the theophany he came to know that none of those things which are apprehended by sense perception (te tei aisthesei katalambanetai) and contemplated by the understanding really subsists (hyphesteke), but that the transcendent essence and cause of the universe, on which everything depends, alone subsists.

For magic proper, you'll want to study the Grimoire tradition - your approach to these is very much dependent on the school of thought you're following since they contain no theoretical background. These are the essentials;

>Papyri Graecae Magicae, Hans Dieter Betz
>Techniques of Graeco-Egyptian Magic, Stephen Skinner
>Hygromanteia, Ioannis Marathakis

THIS so much. If someone is so chicken shit that they are afraid to get magic confused with the vulger sense they should not even be in the subject to begin with.

The most important for beginners would be the Greeks, Bible/Christianity and Hermeticism.

However it is almost necessary to rely on certain modern figures both philosophical and esoteric. Might I suggest, first(keep in mind the clumsy translation):

http://users.belgacom.net/wagnerlibrary/prose/wlpr0126.htm

I advocated this first, along with Plato, Christianity and Hermeticism, because of how dangerous the occult can be for beginners. Take yesterday for example I awoke to a death struggle with a wizard of sorts.

So first, you must find the self negating spirit first. For that too, can also be an affirmation, rather than the easy route of ego. Read the Imitation of Christ also.

Perhaps it never truly aligned with it, but you would ever deny all value in the occult?

Satanism is autistic, but in the "better" branches of it, there is an odd value. And I say that as a Christian. Still, occult =/= satanic.
