Why is it that this creature had absolutely no impact on the world other than the autistic individuals of this board?

>Guénon was a literal nobody, he was not influenti-
Among the many western philosophers, artists and authors who were influenced by him or who heaped praise on him include Carl Schmitt, Georges Bataille, Aleksander Dugin, Antonin Artaud, Olavo de Carvalho, André Breton, Mircea Eliade, Alain Danielou, Julius Evola, André Malraux, Albert Gleizes, René Daumal, Raymond Queneau, Paul Ackerman, Huston Smith, William Chittick, Steve Bannon, Harry Oldmeadow, James Cutsinger and Hossein Nasr. Furthermore as Nasr notes in his article 'The Influence of Rene Guenon in the Islamic World', Guénon is well-known and influential among the intelligentsia including traditional Islamic scholars in certain Islamic countries such in Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and Malaysia. Guénon is also taught in some 'history of western esoterism/mysticism' classes at the few universities which offer them.

Can confirm. Nearly all of his works translated to Turkish. And lot of theology grads like him because of his sufism and anti-western/material thinking.

The Iran Research Institute of Philosophy (IRIP) (ؤسسه پژوهشی حکمت و فلسفه ایران)
>In September 1974, Farah Pahlavi Empress of Iran commissioned her personal secretary Hossein Nasr, Head of the Empress's Private Bureau, to establish and lead the Imperial Iranian Academy of Philosophy.[1] It was the first academic institution to be founded upon the principles of philosophical Traditionalism.

This is simply not true. There's not one philosopher- if we may so denominate him one- that's more influential than him at the moment. None. Perhaps one could argue for Heidegger, but it would be a short sighted argument.

Iranian philosophy student here. In case anyone is wondering, philosophy today is divided to three camps in Iran: the analytics, German idealists, and Islamic Peripatetics (Avicenna, Mulla Sadra, etc.)

Literally no one talks (or knows) about muh Tradition and Guenon (pbuh). Maybe once upon a time when Nasr had influence, but not today.

Most people have become disillusioned with religion. Of course, if formally asked, everyone would say they are pious muslims (we are required by the state to LARP). But if you somehow have earnest conversations with them, most are either blatant atheists or believe in god but not Islam.

>Marx

Retroactively BTFO by Rene Guenon (pbuh)

>"The case of Freud himself, founder of ‘psychoanalysis’, is quite typical in this respect, for he never ceased to declare himself a materialist. One further remark: why is it that the principal representatives of the new tendencies, like Einstein in physics, Bergson in philosophy, Freud in psychology, and many others of less importance, are almost all of Jewish origin, unless it be because there is something involved that is closely hound up with the ‘malefic’ and dissolving aspect of nomadism when it is deviated, and because that aspect must inevitably predominate in Jews detached from their tradition?"

>Are there no sufi orders in Iran?
I've heard of the Gonabadi dervishes, but they are by no means mainstream. Last I heard of them, they were upset that their leader was being held under house arrest. The government seems to dislike them, but not enough to actively oppose them, so they are kept on a short leash.
