If you have gotten to the point that you feel no direct effect from caffeine then it is time to quit. If nothing else, then you can enjoy the buzz when you relapse.

If I only read what I enjoy I might aswell not read at all. Being a brainlet I may have to wrestle with a lot of texts but at least I'm learning something when I get down to doing it.

Usually when I work until 2 am, caffeine wont help my hands steady or make me less dreary.

Caffeine can take 2 hours before hitting you, then its effects last for about five hours. It's not what you think.

what would you enjoy reading, what are your interests?

To be honest I don't get much enjoyment out of reading fiction in general so I just read things I think will teach me something, so I get something out of it.

I do enjoy poetry though and it tends to be shorter.

Yes, it's likely from poor habits, but having no reason to get up in the morning lets me stay in bed until I get well rested anyway. I'm more concerned with whether I get lucid dreams or not.

As for whether I enjoy it I'm not sure, I get a positive feeling out of reading good poetry but I've never recited poetry to anyone but myself. I don't know if I'd call it smart, it's probably good for your mental health to carry it with you in memory because it is beautiful.

I have an interest in hard scifi but I don't like reading it because I don't feel like I get MUCH enjoyment out of it, and would be better off reading non-fiction.

Or did you mean what non-fiction I have an interest in?

I read Notes on the Death of Culture which was fairly easy to read, but before that I read Alasdair Macintyre and the greeks (english translations) which I struggled with. English is not my native language either but I don't think language is my main problem.

I should of said quote instead of recite. I believe to truly learn something you need a drive too. Just reading and hoping to retain the information may not work. I try to read at least 1 chapter a day, more if I'm into it.
