No one cares who you date you filthy fucking whore whose entire existence revolves around the micro-politics of twentysomethings fucking eachother. Enjoy your weekly two hours of browsing 4chan before going back to your normie twitter friends and saying some gay normie shit like "yeah i use that awful website lol." I hope you're in another window right now, talking in an SSRI monotone to your fellow discord e-thots who all e-date redditors, endlessly talking about how bored you are and trying to get someone to watch a movie with you. Enjoy hitting 30 as a permanently adolescent woman with no hobbies other than typing in lowercase and sharing "memes" from a website that instantly detects you as someone who obviously doesn't belong on it. Every second you spent reading this and every millisecond you spend thinking up and typing a reply to me is a second your aging pussy will never get back. Your pussy has finite time and it's wrinkling up as you read this. Stop reading now. If you even reply to me dismissively with a few words that is how many words worth of time I stole from your pussy before you became a wrinkled old whore. As you wander the earth loveless and alone your dried up mausoleum of a pussy will forever record all of its precious minutes and seconds you squandered on things other than getting a husband and building a life for yourself, and on some small corner of some small wall I will be permanently etched in your pussy's history as time squandered. Alt+tab to your Discord now roastie!! Tell your e-thot friends how bored you are!! They're going to keep caring when you say "i'm bored lol. where's my dank weed at? kek 420 caturday" even when you're 30, don't worry. You having no personality and no hobbies and no career will all be fine well into your 30s and 40s and beyond. Don't worry about basing your entire existence around a rigid hierarchy of socio-sexual value that tricks you into thinking you're its gatekeeper while really using you as its objectified currency. That will last forever. People still want your pussy when you look like a frumpy mannish goblin and you're 29. It's still dorky in a cute way when you identify as a 4chan posting "alternative" girl in your late twenties. You have lots of time roastie. The clock isn't ticking. Spend more precious seconds calling men losers on 4chan. Just another few seconds. It's Sunday. The best way to send your Sunday is to keep talking to men who hate you, on a website where you intuitively and immediately stand out to everybody as a bitter outsider.

Sorry, thought the inquiry concerned Lawrence, not Hawthorne.
Most of the negativity about him here generally concerns what is perceived to be his stodginess, verbosity, and typical use of symbols. In fact he's not only a great writer but like his buddy Melville a great artist. Few here give him the time, or hated Scarlet Letter when having to read it in hs so just stopped there.

By having unshakable confidence and energy in your frame of reality , you suck her in and impose your values until she adopts them as her values as well and you're the best man in that system and only one on top of it since it is your frame.
You hook her in by having a high energy field, they just want to feel better so are easily hooked like fish to a bait.
The gravitational pool of your personal reality needs to be very solid.

I never understood the critical acclaim behind "The Great Gatsby". I always disliked it in high school, even though it seemed like one of the most popular novels among my peers.
I think than, in terms of being a novel, "The Fountainhead" is pretty good. Reading Rand's philosophy, or god forbid that ideological trough "Atlas Shrugged" is a terrible experience, but in general I had a good time reading "The Fountainhead". It has a wider reach than I'd expect, too. My Bernie-supporting undergrad girlfriend adored the novel, even though she obviously disagrees with Rand's politics.

Here's my issue: that's exactly how F. Scott lived his life. He was a total hypocrite. He soaked in the decadent abundance of the 20s more than Gatsby did. He came from a rich family, and always wanted to be richer. So his criticism of this life rings hollow to me. Also: he actively plagiarized from Zelda, then when she got upset about it he had her institutionalized and called her writing third-rate. He's a vacuous prick, and I doubt I'll change that perspective in my life.

The reason Gatsby is so widely taught in Highschool is because it's a useful tool for teaching symbolism. It's a very ok book, normies like it because they want to larp as if theyre in the 20s and they have a very shallow understanding of the book as being about romance or being rich and partying. Very gay. If you actually read the book its more about how the rich take advantage of the poor, the area where the poor people live is literally called the valley of the dead. I'm not a fan of the book, but I don't like seeing so many normies say its their favorite book cuz its the only one they liked in highschool

Except Fitzgerald forgets to do literally anything with this symbolism except vomit it onto the page with such dissonance that it almost cuts the story in half, then promptly absolves himself of needing to reconcile an ending for the story by having Daisy get yeeted by a car.
Fucking 11/10.

The literary device of "dude just vomit elementary symbolism onto the page lmao" would later be employed by Vonnegut, too, in Slaughterhouse-5 - wonder what the connection there is (it's called being a hack).

I guess that's why >>15083604 said it's widely taught. The symbolism is very ham-fisted, so it's easy to get dumbasses in high school to be like "oh I get it, the light on the other shore is like how the characters in the book all want something that seems directly in their grasp, but is unobtainable or only opaque". It's Fitzgerald's incompetence that make him so easy to teach to high schoolers I guess.

There's no magic rule for this. You can have dozens of qualities, it will all come down to luck, in the end. That's why you might see couples where one partner is considerably more attractive and better in many other aspects than the other. It will all come down to the mere chance of meeting a girl like this, the girl being single at the moment, and the girl being insterested in you. As long as you're not a repulsive person, it will all come down to luck, so just relax, sit back, roll the dice, and let it be.
