You could argue that any so-called "postmodern" attempt to expand our directory of gender identity is fighting the winning fight, to give one example. Any reactionary response to this era that opts for us to return/arrive at a new modernism or a primitive/older/traditional manner of being is throwing in the towel. At the end of the day, human life hasn't changed much, the powerful mistreats the weak and the weak is resentful. You shit, eat, and sleep - and if technology will rid you of those in the future, it won't rid of death.
I'll go further: even if it does, it won't give you any more meaning. Because there's none.
Yes, nihilism is a pre-pubescent philosophy, the kind that only edgy people would adopt. But my opinion is, even if there was a meaning, the individual has not enough strength to uphold it. And the species as a whole hasn't change it's face in centuries.

Some of us older anons were reading about postmodernism decades ago, it's been around for some time and yet the world still goes on without a care. It was an ugly phase, but a necessary one in the sense that "philosophers" had the adolescent need to devour knowledge and values to theoretical oblivion. It came and went, and no one cared because frankly we have bigger problems in the world to solve besides the alleged "loss" of all meaning and value.
