I bought American Tabloid and The Black Dahlia for my dad because he likes crime fiction, but he gave them back to me unread, so now I own them but have never read them. Perhaps I'll start one after I'm done with the book I'm currently reading.

I am gonna read his LA Quartet as fan of the 40s-50s era and crime fiction. He can't be that bad of writer to have gotten three everyman volumes.

I like his 'telegraphic' writing style, but I don't care much for crime fiction.
