Almost 300 pages in and I'm starting to feel a bit tired of hearing the same shit over and over again, but I don't know a better book.

>> No.15855903

>>15855892
Honestly. The repetition feels almost like mind control due to how hard it's trying to drill the same exact lesson into your hear over and over and over again, disguising each chapter like a "new concept" when in reality it's just "trust in free markets" again.

That's because he uses a lot of empirical data, so it becomes kind of repetitive.

Despite me not distrusting his data, I'd like the book better if he'd give sources for the statistics he uses and like the editions of the newspapers he cites throughout the book. It just feels weird having to believe what he says.

I don't adhere to jewish propaganda on either side. There are other ways. The truth that Sowell works to obscure is that government is not incompetent, it's just occupied and working for a different tribe.

They are our rulers lol. It's a question of whether you'd rather have rulers who are held accountable for their actions (politicians) or rulers who do whatever the hell they want in the shadows (businessmen).

You can vote with your feet to put pressure on your employer - and this option is just a running joke when talking about moving to another country. Your impact in the election process is an another joke btw.
Voting with your feet works well enough that 95% of workers earn MORE than a minimum required by law. It would have been higher still if not for government bureaucrats consuming part of your income (they DO NOT work for free you know) and restricting business competition and growth with their regulations.

>> No.15858772

I’d strongly recommend reading Mankiw’s textbook before reading this one. While it may seem like it only defends free markets, once you realize pretty much any econ textbook does the same thing you’ll have an easier time understanding it.

100% sure he hasn't read Critique of the Gotha program, particularly the chapter 1.
